The authority of the believer is mostly revealed through the book of Ephesians

Ephesians 1:16 “Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17. That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:  18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,  19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,  20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,” (Paul is praying that the church would get the revelation of the power and authority they have been given.)

Kenneth Hagan says that the prayer in Ephesians 3:14-19 (“For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,  Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.”) Changed his life forever.  When he started to pray the Ephesian prayers over himself, he saw the greatest results he had ever seen in his life.

You are going to have to get a spiritual understanding of the authority of the believer.  Authority is something you have to get a revelation of.  Once you get the revelation, it’s yours.

This is going to be pretty much our main text: Ephesians 6:10-12” 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.(its not the power of our might, but the power of the Lord’s might).

11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (God reveals to us in the Word of God that there is a spiritual battle. Our fight isn’t against people, but against spiritual forces that influence people.)  We have an adversary who wants to devour us in our spiritual quests for God.

The devil’s going to try to get you to walk out of love.  He will try to put people under the influence of wrong thoughts.

  • Thank God, we have authority over evil spirits through Jesus Christ. And our combat with the devil should be with the consciousness that we have authority over the devil because he is a defeated foe. The Lord, Jesus Christ defeated the devil for us.
  • When the adversary tries to rear his evil head, it not time to speak in tongues it’s time to cast him out. Speak the Word!!
  • You receive authority when you are born again.

The Biblical Definition of Authority is: It is the power that is lawfully delegated to believers. It’s delegate power.  And the right to exercise that power.
